Description

This one-day barista course is designed with Transition Year students in mind, but it is also suitable for anyone with no previous barista experience who wants a practical crash course in coffee preparation.

The course offers a fun, hands-on introduction to the world of coffee and gives participants the chance to experience what it is like to work behind the coffee bar. It is ideal for students, beginners, or anyone who wants to build confidence with espresso machines, milk steaming, latte art, and basic coffee shop skills.

Participants will learn how to prepare and present a range of popular espresso-based drinks, while also developing an understanding of workflow, customer service, and the daily responsibilities of a barista.

Key topics include:

  • How to organise and maintain a clean, efficient coffee workstation
  • How to prepare espresso and monitor its quality
  • Understanding milk texturing and steaming techniques
  • How to prepare popular espresso-based drinks such as latte, cappuccino, americano, flat white, and much more
  • How to pour basic latte art
  • How to take customer orders and offer simple coffee advice
  • How to clean and care for espresso equipment safely and correctly

The course is delivered by an experienced trainer in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment. Participants will be encouraged to practise, ask questions, and build confidence throughout the day.

By the end of the course, participants will have a strong introduction to the skills and knowledge used in a professional coffee shop, as well as a better understanding of the barista role and the hospitality industry.

Certification and educational materials are included in the course price.
