Description
This is a detailed 3-day workshop designed for both aspiring coffee roasting business owners who need more skills or knowledge and experienced coffee roasters interested in a deeper understanding of coffee roasting theory.
On the first day, we’ll start with the SCA Green Coffee Foundation course. This session will cover the basics: exploring different coffee species, the impact of processing methods on coffee flavor, how to distinguish between species, grade coffee samples, and identify the main defects in green coffee.
The second day is dedicated to the SCA Roasting Skills Foundation course, where participants will learn how to operate a coffee roaster, recognize the critical stages of the roasting process, interpret and document roast profiles, and prevent common roasting errors.
On the third day, we’ll engage in the SCA Sensory Skills Foundation. This course will teach participants how to use the Coffee Tasters Flavor Wheel, identify key aromas and flavors in coffee, set up a professional cupping session, and use a cupping form.
At the end of this masterclass, participants will receive three certificates from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), the leading professional organization in the coffee world. You’ll leave with all the skills and knowledge needed to confidently start your own roasting business.
