Description
This is a 3-day course designed for those that are willing to start a coffee roasting business but do not possess enough skills or knowledge but also for seasoned coffee roasters that want to understand the theory beyond the coffee roasting processes.
On day one we will do an SCA Green Coffee Foundation course, learning about different species of coffee, the impact the processing on the coffee flavour, how to differentiate between different species, how to grade samples of coffee and how to identify the main defects that can appear in green coffee.
On day two, we will do an SCA Roasting Skills Foundation course learning how to control a coffee roster, how to identify the main stages of the roasting process, how to record and read a roast profile and how to avoid roast defects.
On day three, we will do an SCA Sensory Skills Foundation, in which we will learn how to use the Coffee Tasters Flavour Wheel, how to identify some of the main aromas and flavours in coffee, how to set up a cupping session and how to use cupping form.
At the end of this masterclass you will receive 3 certificates from SCA, the largest coffee professionals association in the world and you will posses all the skills and knowledge required to start a roasting business.
